What is the difference between a lease and exclusive right?
A lease grants you to only partial user-rights to a beat allowing you to distribute it on up to 2500 copies (premium lease: 10,000 copies), a beat you have leased will also remain on the market for other users. The purchase of Exclusive rights grants you full user rights for use of the instrumental on any medium and once purchased will be taken off the beat market.
Which is the right purchase option for me?
Lease - Lease is perfect for non profit, demo projects and small time distribution (2500 or less), it allows you to get high quality product for your project at a great price point. Premium lease - With a license to distribute 10,000 copies as well as full access to the track outs, if you trying to push your career a little further this is the license for you. NOTE. The track outs will enable to include your own drops as well as a better all mix with your finished vocals (track outs sent via email only). Exclusive rights - This is for artists releasing projects independently or through a major distribution company or record company. You of course get the full track outs but also full rights to distribute an unlimited amount of copies.
What does my beat purchase include?
Each purchase includes a contract/invoice-receipt stating your rights of ownership/taxes, etc. and the files in .wav-format. A normal lease includes the mixed stereo wav file of the beat. Premium Leases and Exclusive Rights also include the separate multi-tracks of the beat(s). You will receive these files as electronic download-links.
Are your beats mixed and mastered?
We take a great deal of our care with the way our instrumentals are mixed. The beats also do have an initial level of mastering but it’s important for us the FINAL track with your vocals sounds good, so we do not make them to loud (over compressed) otherwise there will be no space left in the dynamics of the mix for your vocals, which will lead to a muddy final mix. This is something that, unfortunately a lot of producers overlook on the web.
What payment methods do you currently accept?
At this points we accept all PayPal payments
Can I still use beats I have leased after exclusive rights have been sold?
You can as long as you stay within the leasing terms agreed. Selling exclusive rights does not affect previous leases.
I’ve bought exclusive rights to a beat, may this beat be leased again, also, has it been leased before?
Once a beat is sold “exclusive”, it will be taken off the beat marker no longer be available for sale or lease. However, it may be possible that a beat has been leased to several persons before it has been sold “exclusive” but under only leasing user rights.
Can I re-sell purchased beats after purchasing a license?
It is prohibited to resell the beat(s) or transfer your rights of ownership to a third person.
What happens to someone who violates your terms?
If someone does not have a license to use any beat or instrumental owned by The Dream life Beat Team on commercial or profitable mediums, will face criminal punishment for copyright infringement.
