Does anyone else use hardware?

I came into the new age of shit.. the computer sounds actually out do the older sounds. I recently sold all my hardware except my records and turntables. I had a Timbaland Edition Miko, Fantom x6, MPC 1000, and I just got sick of how much longer that shit took to work than the computer. Now my sample brain is Reason and Recycle.. and I use tons of samples.. drum loops, and just random sounds.. and I resample shit and make my own sounds a lot. Hardware is taxing on the time it takes to make hits tho. I gave up on using the mpc like 2-3 years ago.

are you serious!!!???
i know how to work all the new shit. i have reason, fl, and pro tools.
but i swear NOTHING matches the actual mpc "sound"
and the 4000 is the only drum machine/sampler hardware out that samples at 24 bit.
i have tons of samples pre programmed into both my mpcs and its easy to make new kits with the mpc software.
i definitely respect what you do fam don't take me wrong!
but....serious question. do you think i should drop all my hardware and strictly go software?
i feel like that would be a hella loss. the mpc is in every hit producers studio.

To answer Basement Beatz. If I were you, I would not upgrade anything. Just add on to what you have. If you upgrade, make sure it's on a day you have some free time.
To answer Clockwork, I would sell the hardware pronto before you lose more value on your gear.
2 yrs ago I sold my MPC 2000XL, Yamaha Motif ES Rack, Roland XV 3080. Then I got my Maschine, and some dope soft synths. My man from Trendz Of Culture thought I was crazy for doing it. But when I showed him what the software could do, he purchased Maschine the very next week and sold his MPC 2000, and SP1200.

Reason 6.5 and Pro Tools 8.0.5... I kinda wanna upgrade PT.. but I hear I might get dongle fucked and lose all my bootlegged shit. Anyone with insight on that.. I would appreciate the info.. Meaning.. if I upgrade my PT to like 9,10,11.. Will my current shit still work.. or will I need to re-verify everything. Cause I am scared to death of losing my Nexus and other RTAS plugs I came to love. I just know that after I update my shit.. everything will be screwy like always. I have bad luck with technology.

Hey are you using a "free" version of Reason 6.5 or did you pay for a real copy?

Im still stuck on reasons 5 here.

And to answer peoples questions on weather you should use mpcs.

I use to have all the old hardware.

And it all sounds the same, there is no difference in sound quality. Its all 44khz 16 bit and above that you cant really hear the difference anyway.

I cant hear the difference between mp3/wav or vinyl, does that make me a bad person?

No I can still have fun.

Even all the compressors and eqs dont sound any different.

The reason subtractor is my #1 synth ever, and people say that the filter sounds like, shit and that it has artefacts in the sound.

WHo cares? LIke nik nikateen recently said, no one who listens to music nowadays cares how it sounds like.

Its more about how you promote your beats you make, and also how you ask people if they like your beats or not.

I Use FL Studio 9, i've been using this DAW since Fruity Loops 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 and 11. I really didnt like 10 and 11 like that because of technical issues. I also use cubase 5 Logic Pro Reason 5 and Pro Tools 10. I use Modules too, the korg triton roland fantom and the motif es. :D

Fl studio 10 & 11. I use different Vsts to compliment the sound of my beats. My goals is to get Komplete 10 and the Mashine and Build a Laptop and desktop suitable for both Daw and Hardware.
