DJ D LIVE RocBattle Verified Honest Voter: consistent, fair votes across the arena Producer 2 weeks ago · 103 views
Wassup my fellow producers? Just curious...if we are supposed to be battling beats, is it fair to say throwing whole 16 bar verses on the beat gives the producer an edge or is it violating protocol? What's yall take?

I agree with SBL. Adding an unreleased 16 could give an edge because it can define a vibe for a particular beat, however I think it should be categorized differently.

I think in this case it depends on the music. Did the artist carry the beat? It losses points IMO in a battle. Did the beat/production carry the track and/or was it all around great sounding? Added points for that. Was it you as an artist as well? Extra creativity points at the very least. So it depends but I don't see why it would be a protocol violation. Should be what we are all striving to do. Have finished music that sounds good. I think of it as inspiration! The violation would be... if an artist was in here with someone else's beat, battling. IMO

@clark work If you’ve been voting and listening. John Pierre has been battling some of his stuff with artist on them.

At that point, it just turns into a comparison of song quality. I have plenty of unreleased and released tracks I've produce, mix master that would easily outperform most of what we'd hear, but I don't feel that would be a fair fight.

@DJLocZmyth For sure. I take my time listening and vote genuinely, it takes something truly special for me to drop a high rating on a 1–10

@djdlive I mean I’ll partake if everyone thinks it’s appropriate for a beat battle

They used to have song battles on rocbattle back in the day. Should bring that back. But for now, don't battle songs, just beats.

"BEAT" Battle... was the assignment... πŸ˜‚ All Love Though JP is solid! πŸ’―πŸ”₯
It's ALL in the preference of the audience on here either way.
But "Song" Battle or "Track" Battle should definitely be looked at as a viable feature on
here in the future. Just my 2 cents

Shout out to all you Producers on here in the community! Big Love & Respect! πŸ’―

Honestly? It's a blessing and a curse...sure it can boost a preference but it can also hurt you if I don't like how it came out...there's dudes literally playing vocals offbeat and nobody even listened to the actual beat because the shh was impossible to ignore...

@DLIVE I also was wondering rules on lyrics over beats. now i dont have any unreleased artist but i got a mean remix type style original beat with established lyrics overlayed. can i rock?

@DLIVE I feel it should be a beat battle, not a structured song battle, someone said they voted against me because the other had a hook and chorus πŸ˜‚ just some weirdos bias voting on here
