Tagging Beats

So, if you ever heard someone rap over a beat ripped off youtube, or some mp3 beat they bought online, or got in a beat pack, the quality is always shit. They never do anything substantial with it, and the "mixtape" era where Lil Wayne might do something like this is over anyway. You really don't have to worry about some fool making a living off of your beats. Plus, if your beat is mastered, and most of you guys are doing that, then the beat is so loud an artist can't mix their vocals properly to it anyway. This is why I stopped tagging my beats. I have a sound anyway, yeah sure someone could copy it, but no one does. I am not saying you shouldn't tag your beats, but I am saying that you don't have to either. Now there could be an argument for "beat jackers" trying to steal your beats. I knew a guy doing that, and he did that with the beat tags on it lol. I told him why your beat tags scream another producer's name? He said it was from a sample pack haha. Lmao. What are everyone's thoughts about beat tagging in 2026?

@vigilantestylez

I like tags, I use tags when I remember to. I suppose it depends if you have tag you like using.

@bobchops I remember Knock Squared made awesome tags. Wish he was here again lol. I would probably entertain buying some new ones for certain occasions.

@vigilantestylez The big long tags, i don't think are good, but just your name tag, like a signiture.

Obvioulsy the ones that say "dont steal this beat, I can meet you at x location bring the $5 for this beat" those ones are no good imo.
