Buckshot (Kenyatta Blake) is a Brooklyn MC and one-third of Black Moon, alongside 5ft and DJ Evil Dee. Black Moon's 1993 debut "Enta da Stage," built on Da Beatminerz' dark, jazzy beats, became one of the defining albums of East Coast hip-hop, with "Who Got da Props?", "How Many MC's..." and the "I Got Cha Opin" remix.
In 1994 he co-founded Duck Down with Drew "Dru-Ha" Friedman, starting as a management company and growing into one of hip-hop's longest-running independent labels. He brought in Smif-N-Wessun and formed the Boot Camp Clik with Heltah Skeltah and O.G.C.
He's also rhymed with Masta Ace and Special Ed as the Crooklyn Dodgers, jumped on "The Points" with Biggie, Busta Rhymes and Redman, and made full albums with 9th Wonder (Chemistry, The Formula, The Solution), KRS-One (Survival Skills) and P-Money.
More than 30 years in, the Brooklyn artist turned label owner is still independent and still building. Now he's part of the RocBattle family.
