New Feature: Beat Auctions. Auction Off Your Exclusives
What's going on, RocBattle family!
We just added something new to RocBattle: Beat Auctions. Now you can put the exclusive rights to one of your beats up for auction and let artists bid against each other for it. Highest bid takes the beat.
Some beats are worth more than a price tag. You know the ones. Instead of guessing a price, let the bidders tell you what it's worth.
HOW IT WORKS FOR PRODUCERS
• Use the beats you already have. Go to My Beats, open Edit details on the beat, and hit Put in Auction. No new upload needed.
• Exclusive rights only. Leases stay in the Beat Market. An auction is for the exclusive, one time, to one buyer.
• Every auction runs 7 days, with a live countdown on its own auction page and its own link to share.
• You set the starting bid. The minimum is $100. Nothing less for an exclusive.
• You set a secret reserve. That's the lowest price you'll take. Bidders only see "Reserve met" or "Reserve not met yet." If the bids don't get there, the beat doesn't sell, nobody pays, and your beat goes back to normal.
• Optional Buy it now price. If somebody wants it bad enough, they can end the auction early and take it.
• Check off what comes with it: WAV, trackouts, untagged files, unlimited sales and streams, music videos, radio/TV, producer credit and more. Set your publishing split. We remember it for your next auction, so you don't have to write it all out every time.
• Extra files: if your beat comes with additional files, like trackouts, you can add them as one zip when you start the auction. Only the winner gets them, after they pay. If the beat doesn't sell, the zip is deleted from RocBattle, so upload it again if you run another auction.
• Once the first bid comes in, the auction runs to the end. No pulling it.
HOW BIDDING WORKS FOR ARTISTS
• Artists save a card before their first bid. It's only charged if they win.
• Bids go up in $25 steps, starting from the starting bid.
• Bids are final. No taking them back.
• No sniping. If a bid comes in during the last 10 minutes, the clock goes back to 10 minutes. The auction keeps going until the bidding stops.
• Artists know when they're outbid. Everybody who bid gets a notification and an email when a new bid comes in, and again when there's an hour left.
• Bidder names are hidden. Everyone only sees the first three letters.
• When the clock runs out, the winning artist's card is charged, and their files, any extra files and the signed exclusive license show up in My Purchases right away. The beat gets marked SOLD for everybody else.
• If the winner's payment doesn't go through, they get 24 hours to pay. After that, the beat goes to the next highest bidder.
WHO CAN RUN AN AUCTION
Beat Auctions are for verified Exclusive and Exclusive Gold members.
• Exclusive Gold: unlimited auctions, and you keep 90% of the winning bid.
• Exclusive: 1 auction a month, and you keep 80% of the winning bid.
• You need the blue check. If you're not verified yet, go through the steps on your Verification page now so you're ready.
The artist pays the card processing fee, not you. And you can't bid on your own beat.
WHEN IT STARTS
We're kicking it off November 1st with Rockwilder's beats. Anybody with an account can bid on Rock's exclusives. Verified Exclusive and Gold members are up next.
Everything is broken down on the Get Paid page under Beat Auctions: https://rocbattle.com/get-paid#auctions
Hope that information was helpful.
